Cake For Dinner

This is not your mom’s parenting podcast—unless your mom swore a little, cried in the car, and showed up anyway.

Cake for Dinner brings founders, experts, celebrities, and parents to the couch for real conversations about motherhood, marriage, hormones, healing, and the messy middle. No filters. No fluff. Just honest talk—and maybe some cake.

This week we’re joined by Lisa Danielle Pastrich—single mom, founder of The Accessory Hoarder, and the styling curator behind La Strada Showroom. She makes accessorizing look effortless, but trust me, this episode is anything but polished—we’re digging into the raw, vulnerable conversations about mental health, single parenting, and the real hustle behind building something beautiful.

Dr. Samantha Saltz—affectionately known as Dr. Sam—is a double-board-certified child, adolescent, and adult psychiatrist based in Boca Raton, FL. In our conversation, we talked about what she sees every day in her practice—the rise in teen anxiety, the pressures kids are under, and just how hard parenting can feel when your child is struggling with mental health. Dr. Sam’s empathy, deep understanding, and care for each patient are incredible, and she’s helped shape my own parenting in countless ways. She also got beautifully vulnerable, opening up about her own difficult journey to motherhood and the lessons she’s still learning as a parent herself.
Dr. Sam is extensively published both in academic journals and local newspapers. She has co-authored a chapter in Kaplan and Sadock, which is one of the most prestigious textbooks of psychiatry. Her expertise has been shared with her community on the radio and on television. She is passionate about psychiatry, mental health and the overall wellness of other people.
